How do I set up a store?

We understand that not everyone is tech-savvy, and that's perfectly okay! Setting up your online store on Bakesale is a breeze, even if you consider yourself IT illiterate. In just 10 minutes, you'll have your store up and running, ready to showcase your business. If you encounter any difficulties, rest assured, we're here to guide you through every step.

To set up a store on Bakesale you first need to become a seller. For more info see How do I become a seller?

To add a new store

Step 1: Log into your Bakesale Account 

Step 2: Go to the Become a Seller tab

Step 3: Click the + New Store button

Step 4: Add your store name, for example, "Mary Bakes" (no weird symbols needed here).

The store name you enter will automatically generate a url for you. You can modify your url for example change 'mary-bakes' to ''marybakes' or add your town.

Step 5: Add your store details on the Edit store tab

Step 6: Add your legal information on the Edit Legal tab

Step 7: Publish Store on the Publish tab

The Publish Store button will be green if you have added all the necessary information. 

Click 'Publish this store'

Once you request for your store to be published the Bakesale Team will be notified to approve your store. For more information see How does my store get approved?
